Hey Gunner...Without disclosing our postings...I'm PO2 or 1 (can't remember) Keith Dolge. I think I worked for you once. If correct, let me know and I will send you my various addresses.

This is really cool you wrote a book about us. I never thought anyone would have the balls to do that! :)

Gunner,

My name is Jim Sobek. I was A Fire Control Technician from 1960 - 1964. I was in boot camp at about the same time as you. On arrival at Great Lakes Naval Training Center on July 26, 1960, I found myself in holding company while awaiting new glasses. I spent evenings polishing my boondockers and conversing with another boot who said he was going to become a Nuclear Weaponsman. I do not remember his name, but I do remember our conversations well. I have wondered for the past 60 years where he went, how he did and where he is now.

I do not remember his name. But, he was a young black guy with extremely black skin tone and a clear complexion. Fairly short and in good shape. He was most likely from the midwestern US or somewhere in the east. No accent to notice. Brilliant guy. He and I spent hours discussing science, philosophy and anything else that came to mind.

I am hoping that you perhaps knew him in Nuclear Weapons A or C schools.

I have purchased your book and it arrived today. What a massive effort! Thank you for taking that on.

I am somewhat concerned in that your last blog post was in 2007. I'm hoping you are still with us. If so, please respond. If someone else reads this and knows Jim's status, also respond.

I can be reached at WolfTD@aol.com
